What RSSB announced
The Rajasthan Staff Selection Board issued a press note on 14 October 2026. It fixed the Common Eligibility Test (Senior Secondary Level) 2026 for 1 to 3 December 2026. The test falls under advertisement 08/2026, which the board issued on 23 June 2026.
The advertisement had printed 23 to 25 October 2026. The press note gives the December dates, so go by those. It also lists the 38 districts that will host centres.
The same note gave a last chance to withdraw. It was meant for candidates who lacked the qualification or did not want to sit the test. They could withdraw from 16 to 18 October 2026, until 11:59 pm. The Withdraw button sat under My Recruitment on the Recruitment Portal, reached through SSO.
RSSB published the list of withdrawn application numbers on 27 October 2026. A withdrawn form cannot come back. The board warned that it will act against ineligible candidates who did not withdraw.
Exam dates and districts
| Event | Date |
|---|---|
| Online applications | 24 June to 23 July 2026 |
| Withdrawal window | 16 to 18 October 2026 (11:59 pm) |
| CET Senior Secondary exam | 1, 2 and 3 December 2026 |
| Admit card | Not printed yet |
| Shift timings and reporting time | Not printed yet |
Centres sit in all 38 districts on the list, from Ajmer and Alwar to Tonk and Udaipur. Districts such as Beawar, Deeg, Didwana-Kuchaman, Khairthal-Tijara and Kotputli-Behror are on it too.
Neither the press note nor the advertisement gives shift times. Some sites show shift times from an earlier CET. This year’s paper runs 2 hours 30 minutes, so wait for your admit card.
How to download the admit card

RSSB will put e-admit cards online. The advertisement says the board will not send any admit card by post. It will announce the release in newspapers and on its website.
- Keep your application number and SSO ID ready. The advertisement asks you to note both.
- Log in at sso.rajasthan.gov.in and open the Recruitment Portal.
- You can also use the direct admit card page at recruitment.rajasthan.gov.in.
- Download the e-admit card and print it.
- Check the photo and signature. The photo on the admit card must match your face on exam day. At the exam you sign the admit card and attendance sheet. That signature must match the one you uploaded, or RSSB can disqualify you.
When we checked RSSB’s admit card section on 3 November 2026, it had no CET notice yet. Some sites guess how many days before the exam it will appear. RSSB has printed no such timeline.
What to carry and exam-day rules
The advertisement lists only these items for the exam hall:
- a transparent ballpoint pen with blue ink
- one photograph of 2.5 x 2.5 cm, not older than one month
- an original photo identity card
- the e-admit card
Leave your phone and purse at home. RSSB bans mobile phones, pagers, Bluetooth devices and any other communication device on the premises. If you bring one, staff can seize it, and neither the centre nor the board will look after it.
Breaking these rules brings action under the board’s 2016 unfair means regulations. The Rajasthan Public Examination (Measures for Prevention of Unfair Means in Recruitment) Act, 2022 also applies. Action can include cancelling your exam.
A candidate who cheats faces up to three years in jail. The fine is at least ₹1 lakh. A convicted candidate can also be barred from all public exams for two years.
RSSB also applies a dress code. The details are on rssb.rajasthan.gov.in. Read the instructions on your e-admit card, since the advertisement asks you to follow them in full. On the way, do not ride on the roofs or footboards of trains and buses. The board asks this of every candidate.
Scribe and extra time
Bringing your own scribe? Hand the papers to the centre superintendent at least one day before the exam. These include the disability certificate and undertakings from you and the scribe. Add the scribe’s photo ID and qualification proof.
Want the board or centre superintendent to provide a scribe? Submit the papers at least two days before. That means the disability certificate and your undertaking.
Under Section 2(r) of the 2016 disability Act, blind candidates get a scribe on these papers alone. So do those with locomotor disability in both arms or cerebral palsy. Other 2(r) candidates need the Appendix C certificate.
Candidates under Section 2(s) need the Appendix D certificate. For a scribe or compensatory time, they must contact the board with all certificates. The deadline is two days before the exam.
Exam pattern
| Item | Detail |
|---|---|
| Questions | 120 multiple choice, equal marks |
| Total marks | 240 |
| Time | 2 hours 30 minutes |
| Negative marking | One third of the question’s marks per wrong answer |
| Mode | Offline, OMR based (as per the advertisement) |
It is a single paper. It starts with the history, art and culture of Rajasthan. Then come the geography of India and Rajasthan, and Indian polity with a Rajasthan focus. The rest covers the Rajasthan economy, everyday science, reasoning and maths and current affairs. Public health, computers, and general Hindi and English complete it.
Some websites still say the paper has 150 questions for 300 marks. Others say there is no negative marking. The 2026 advertisement says 120 questions, 240 marks and a one-third penalty.
Each question has five options, A to E. Darken only one circle with a blue ballpoint pen. If you skip a question, darken E. A question with no circle darkened loses one third of its marks.
You get 10 extra minutes to check that every question has a circle filled. Leave more than 10% of questions with no circle and you are disqualified.
If RSSB runs the test in more than one sitting, it will apply normalisation to the scores.
Score validity and how CET is used
CET is only an eligibility test. A good score does not promise a job. It makes you eligible to apply for the main recruitment exam of 14 services. These include Forester, Hostel Superintendent, Jamadar Grade-II (Excise), Police Constable, Clerk Grade-II and Junior Assistant posts.
To qualify, you need at least 40% in CET. SC and ST candidates get a relaxation of up to 5%. The advertisement also quotes a 5% relaxation in minimum qualifying marks for ex-servicemen and for candidates with disabilities. The main exam for each service comes with its own advertisement, vacancies and merit list.
A Personnel Department notification of 16 January 2025 sets the validity. The score lasts three years from the result date. There is no limit on attempts. For each main exam, your best valid score before that exam counts. The 2024 score had a one-year validity, which ended on 16 February 2026. That is why earlier candidates had to apply again.
What comes next
After the exam, RSSB will upload the question paper and answer key on its website. You can object to an answer for ₹100 per objection. A separate notice will give the window.
The board will then publish each candidate’s marks on their SSO ID. The list of qualified candidates goes on its website.
Skipping the exam has a cost. Say you apply but miss any two exams of RPSC, RSSB or another state agency in one financial year. That year runs from 1 April to 31 March. Your OTR then gets blocked. Unblocking it costs a ₹750 penalty. Miss two more in the same financial year and the second block costs ₹1,500.

Hall tickets for other recruitment exams are in our latest admit card updates. Main exam notices for these posts will appear under Rajasthan and other state government jobs.
