UPSSSC Inter Level Recruitment 2026 – Apply from 10 Nov

About UPSSSC

The Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission works from Pickup Bhawan in Gomti Nagar, Lucknow. It recruits for Group ‘C’ posts across state departments. Under a 2020 government order, candidates first take the Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET). Only PET takers can then apply for a mains exam.

Advertisement 26-Exam/2026 came out on 16 October 2026. It covers twelve posts in nine offices, and every one asks for Intermediate (Class 12) as the base qualification.

Vacancy breakdown

The twelve posts add up to 1,784. The department-wise list is in the positions table above. Two posts make up more than half the total. Gram Vikas Adhikari (Samaj Kalyan) has 525 and Gram Panchayat Adhikari has 508.

The category split below is the column total of Table 1 (pages 7–9 of the PDF).

Both special-selection Storekeeper and Clerk posts are for Scheduled Tribe candidates.

Table 2 (pages 9–11) lists the horizontal seats post by post. The PDF prints no grand total. By our own sum, women get 327 and ex-servicemen 63. Freedom fighters’ dependants and outstanding sportspersons get 22 each. Disability seats appear only for Bhumi Arjan Amin, Sahkari Krishi Paryavekshak, Samaj Kalyan Paryavekshak and Gram Vikas Adhikari.

UPSSSC says the hiring departments set these numbers. The totals and the category split may still go up or down.

Eligibility

PET-2025 score

You must have sat PET-2025 and received a scorecard. UPSSSC shortlists by PET-2025 normalised score. A zero or negative absolute or normalised score rules you out.

Was your PET-2025 result marked Under Investigation (UI) or Provisional? You may still apply. Your shortlisting will depend on how the Commission’s inquiry ends.

Qualification

Intermediate from the UP Board or a recognised equivalent covers most posts. A few need more:

• Samaj Kalyan Paryavekshak and Gram Vikas Adhikari also need a NIELIT CCC certificate or a government-recognised equivalent.
• Gram Panchayat Adhikari needs the CCC certificate from NIELIT (formerly DOEACC). The PDF lists no equivalent for this post.
• Farm Lipik needs three years of farm work and a working knowledge of Hindi in Devanagari.
• Bikri Karta needs three years of sales work in a firm or government department, plus working Hindi.

Two years in the Territorial Army or an NCC ‘B’ certificate earns preference for every post. Bhumi Arjan Amin also prefers Lekhpal training. Gram Panchayat Adhikari prefers a rural background.

Sahkari Krishi Paryavekshak prefers cooperative training at a recognised college. NCUI, the provincial cooperative union or the cooperative department must run it. You must hold every qualification by 1 December 2026.

Age limit and relaxation

Section 7 (pages 15–17) gives age post by post.

The PDF prints no calendar year in any row. The advertisement came out in October 2026, so we read the date as 1 July 2026. That is our reading, not a printed date. Ask UPSSSC if your age sits near a limit. Check your age with our government job age calculator.

The PDF prints the relaxation this way:

• SC, ST and other notified categories: the upper limit rises by as many years as the government specifies. The PDF gives no fixed number.
• Sahkari Krishi Paryavekshak: 5 more years for people already in government service or UP Cooperative Union service.
• Employees of state services: 5 more years under the order of 27 August 2013.
• Chief Minister Fellowship researchers: age relaxation and preference under the 2026 rules.

If you claim more than one reserved category, you get only one relaxation, whichever helps more. Reservation is only for UP domiciles. Others count as unreserved.

Application fee

Women, ex-servicemen, persons with disabilities, outstanding sportspersons and freedom fighters’ dependants pay by their original category. You can pay by card, net banking, UPI or SBI e-challan. Shortlisted candidates pay a separate mains fee before downloading the admit card.

How to apply

Applications open on 10 November and close on 1 December 2026. The PDF prints dates only, with no closing time.

1. Open upsssc.gov.in and find Advt 26-Exam/2026 under Live Advertisement.
2. Log in with your PET-2025 registration number. The OTP goes to the mobile or email you gave in PET.
3. Your PET details appear on their own. Select every post you want, because UPSSSC ignores posts you leave unticked.
4. Enter your qualification: board, year, roll number, issue date and marks. Submit to get an 11-digit registration number.
5. Your PET photo and signature load automatically and cannot change. Answer Yes or No for any preferential qualification. Tick the declaration and pay.
6. Download and print the form. It prints only after the bank reconciles your fee.

Login here runs on an OTP, and UPSSSC’s site has had OTP trouble before. During PET-2026 registration, an X account named Social Welfare Association posted this:

“It’s been 7 days, OTP verification isn’t happening, no one’s OTP is coming through, can’t fill the PET form.”

Careers360 quoted the post on 1 September 2026. That complaint was about PET-2026 registration, not this mains form. UPSSSC then extended the PET-2026 deadline to 7 September. Make sure your PET-registered mobile and email still work before 10 November.

Paid but no form on screen? Use “Update Your Transaction ID by Double Verification” in the Applicant Segment by 8 December. Until that date, Modify Application lets you change four things:

1. Correspondence address.
2. EWS, horizontal category and gender.
3. Qualification details.
4. Marital status.

Candidates with a disability must also update their disability category or sub-category there. Orders up to 30-04-2026 re-identified the posts for each disability.

Selection process and exam pattern

UPSSSC shortlists 15 times the vacancies in each category, plus everyone tied at the cut-off. Selection then rests on the written exam alone. At document verification you list your post preference. The Commission will try to follow it, weighing merit, qualification and age.

The paper has 100 objective questions of one mark each, and you get two hours. A wrong answer costs a quarter mark. Multi-shift papers are normalised. The PDF does not say whether the exam is on OMR or computer.

Documents

Keep these ready for verification:

• High School or equivalent certificate, the only proof of date of birth UPSSSC accepts.
• Marksheets and certificates, with self-attested copies, plus the CCC certificate where needed.
• SC, ST or OBC certificate in the appendix format. Women must use one from the father’s side.
• EWS certificate in the format of the OM dated 14-03-2019, issued between 1 April and 1 December 2026. It must rest on 2025-26 income and be valid for 2026-27. Family income from all sources must be below ₹8 lakh.
• Disability certificate showing the type and percentage, in the 18 April 2022 format.
• Freedom fighter dependant or outstanding sportsperson certificate, if claimed.
• Ex-servicemen proof, if claimed. You must have retired by 1 December 2026.
• No objection certificate from your employer if you work for the state or central government.

Important instructions

• File one application. If you submit more, only the last one counts.
• A man with more than one living wife is not eligible. Neither is a woman who married a man with a living wife. The Governor can exempt either.
• The UP Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024 applies. Cheating can bar you from future UPSSSC exams.
• UPSSSC does not write to candidates. Every notice goes up on upsssc.gov.in.
• Admit cards will name the date, time and centre, and you cannot change the centre.
